23. MALE. FAIRY. HOMOSEXUAL.
Outgoing.
Jessy is very easy to get along with. With that, Jessy is not quick to have a temper over trivial things. When a stressful situation arises, Jessy’s first instinct is to act and not to worry. He takes things in stride and usually can let most things roll right off his back. There are only a few areas in which he can be very hotheaded and aggressive and those areas always consist of messing with his family and friends. His largest weakness is those he cares most for. This smooth and easy nature has made it possible for him to befriend any person he chooses, and more often than not to enjoy the company of a random individual for the evening (always women, of course, since it is improper for the prince to partake in sexual matters with the same sex). He is smooth and easy-going and usually slithers his way around things wherever possible.
Often times, Jessy occupies people with wild and outrageous stories that could easily outrage but usually gain favor for him. He tells a fake story so well that people always yearn to hear more.
Jessy also can act very disinterested, or he might joke about disliking others, but he is truly a very compassionate and kind person, much like his twin. He have an extreme empathy for others and feels for them more than he should. He can pretend very well that he is the stubborn and selfish prince but he does care for others. He simply chooses to do nice things without wanting anyone to know the bearer of such acts are actually him. He doesn't like attention to be drawn only to the nice aspects of him and uses this as a defense mechanism to keep a good distance from others. The only person who has ever seen through it and who has called him out on it is Damien.
Jess needs people to survive. He cannot stand to be alone for a long period of time and has to have multiple friendships and relationships to feel satisfied. He never uses anyone and is always upfront with them as this comes from his blunt and truthful side. He is kind and that alone usually makes people gravitate to him. In truth, he knows and gets along with many but is only truly close to few, namely his best friend and then his sisters who he acts like a jerky old brother to but to whom he adores and would give anything. His greatest fear is being absolutely alone.
Sneaky.
Like any other fae, Jessy is extremely sneaky, to the absolute dismay of his parents who grow tired of his antics. In the beginning of his education as a prince and for preparation to inherit the throne, Jessy was extremely wild and could not be tamed. He would sneak out, lie, and dismiss his duties as though they were nothing. He never took them seriously and still doesn’t, but his parents have since realized that he needs space to come to terms with his duties instead of having them forced upon him. It is for this reason that they decided to give him a choice of going to the human world and learning the ways there, or staying in the kingdom to maintain his duties as heir to the throne. He jumped on the chance to go to the human world and live there. It was during this time many years ago that he met his best friend, Damien. They were inseparable from the beginning and enjoyed many things together than normal human boys did, even if Jessup was never exactly normal.
In another way, Jess also is sneaky through his cunning use of manipulation in which he can tiptoe around a situation or avoid it by using the right motivation or words. He used this ability in the defense of his loved ones and to protect himself. It has come in handy multiple times in order to spare him the harsh reality of punishment. Jess can talk his way into or out of anything and it usually astounds people, even his own kind. Most people are unaware that they’ve been tricked as Jessup is extremely smooth in his delivery. He also used his ability to read people to his advantage. He can often tell key things about someone by their body language, eye contact, and their actions. It doesn’t take long for him to figure most people out. On the rare occasion that he is fooled by someone, he works that much harder to find the truth. More often than not, he uses the abilities of manipulation, reading, and sneakiness in order to avoid violence which is despises for the most part. However, he can be aggressive if anyone attacks (verbally or physically) his sisters or family. He is very loyal to those he cares about although he might not be loyal to his duty as prince or the throne. He is loyal to himself and will not life a life of unhappiness.
Selfish.
Jessup, as the only son to the king and queen, has certain expectations that fall on his shoulders. He is supposed to be loyal to his duties and to the crown as the crowned prince. He is to be that of a normal young man and enjoy lying with multiple women (even though such behavior would not be acceptable for his sisters, an unfair double standard he is fully against) and that he will marry and love a woman and not enjoy the company of a man. It is fine in fae society for there to be occasions where men enjoy time with each other, but love is not in the equation. As for the prince, neither physical satisfaction nor love is allowed. In this way, Jess feels absolutely ashamed of himself because in his thoughts where he hides and will not admit it, he feels only for men and has little to no true attraction to any women, even those he has previously been with.
He honestly could not care any less for the throne or his right to it. He feels that his twin sister is much more proper for the position and would rather see her do it justice than be the one to ruin it. He also wishes more than anything to be allowed his freedoms and happiness and to enjoy them in the human world where he feels most like his true self. Through the love of music and art that his culture has given him, he has always enjoyed and loved the idea of music. However, as the prince, he is not supposed to divulge in such activities as a means of personal interest or employment. He can enjoy the act of other playing music and is to be trained in them so as to be refined, but wanting music to be his passion and ultimate goal is seen as ridiculous in the society of the kingdom and is deemed unfit for the prince.
